The City of Stockton was a part of the 2018-2019 cohort of the Equitable Economic Development (EED) Fellowship. Desired outcomes for Stockton’s EED Fellowship include increasing the participation in existing programs by minority groups, including Asian, African American, Hispanic, Women-owned and other historically underserved communities. Given the large, diverse overall population, we desire to see program participation be a better reflection of the population demographics. We also desire to develop an engagement strategy foster more meaningful relationships within those communities with the aim of increasing access and utilization of City programs. Jess Zimbabwe was the lead staffer on the April 2019 panel visit to advise the City.
